On the Serbian barricades in Kosovska Mitrovica

Because I am in the process of writing a book about my experiences in Kosovo, I wanted my mother Marie and brother Jan Ditmar to experience Kosovo and Metohija to get a better understanding of the conditions on the ground. In Kosovska Mitrovica, we visited the Serbian barricades on the main bridge, the border to the Albanian part of Mitrovica on the south of the Ibar river. Together with these men, some older and some kids who volunteered their time, we ate roasted potatoes from the stove in the tent, had drinks and rakija, the Serbian plum brandy. Jan Ditmar was playing the Norwegian song Vårsøg by Henning Sommerro on his harmonica.
